Creating highly adaptive teams that inspire change – I have been involved in leading projects for much of my career.  When I discovered my IT team using a new methodology for an important Digital Marketing project I was developing, I was more than impressed as to how much more productive they were over a similar project that I had worked on with them before.  This opened up a whole new world for me and also perfectly aligned with my leadership philosophy around building teams and creating customer centered, forward thinking environments, such that I was immediately in!  With this, I have taken all of my innovation, strategy, team building, project management and leadership background to whole new levels and they all work together perfectly.

Myers-Briggs Type Indicator - Certified

Certified since May, 2004

Team building with Myers Briggs - Have always considered building and leading teams among the most important parts of my job. Either through hiring staff or building cross-functional teams around projects, this has been essential to my effectiveness as a leader.  So it became clear that developing skills around understanding team dynamics, and motivating and exciting people around projects were key to making both the project and those involved successful. Becoming certified in Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) has been a vital tool in facilitating these teams and finding their common ground, which by nature are typically in conflict to one another.

Strengths Finder Review

In addition to Myers Briggs, I have found Strengths Finder to be another valuable tool to assist in building teams.  It is based on developing people by discovering their greatest strengths rather than focusing on eliminating their weaknesses.  This can be an invaluable tool toward building a solid High-Performance Team.

There are a total of 34 strengths that make up the Strengths Finder program. Also detailed below are the 4 areas called Strengths Domains under which the 34 strengths align---Influencing, Relationship Building, Executing, Strategic Thinking.  This can also assist in building teams by recognizing how each of the team members’ strengths fall in these groups and where gaps need to be filled.  My strengths are placed primarily under Strategic Thinking, supported by Influencing and Relationship Building…
